11:01 "You're not going to know everything. You're constantly learning." Best advice I've heard to a young pilot in a long time. I started flying back in the early 1980s and I learned something every time I went up - it's called gaining experience. Yeah, I may not have learned something new about my aircraft or about how weather behaves, but with each flight you gain experience. Even if it's a "routine" flight, you are reinforcing something you learned before which is how you should think about it especially if you find yourself in a situation you have not been in a long time. There's a reason we track our hours. There is a reason a pilot's hours are so important when evaluating their ability to perform a job. There's a reason people look at a pilot's hours if there is an accident or incident in the air. Experience is so important as a pilot, and with each flight you should try to see if you can take something from it and put that experience to another flight later on.

As a retired pilot, I don't support anyone flying anything without the proper training and license. Our airspace and safety of people is too important to demand anything less.

It is clear that helicopters have no future. On the other hand, they have airplanes. We'll see in the future. Hopefully that will change.

I feel that I’m pretty handy and I don’t have much money but a strong desire to get into the air. I just want to know what to would cost me to build a strong agile plane? Or buy used? And where should I start looking?

Why are there so few makers of aviation motors? I'm not a pilot nor a mechanic but as I've looked around at learning to fly I've kinda thought there wasn't much of a choice? Since there isn't much competition, is that how prices are so high? I don't know but they seem high priced to the point that even pt 103 planes are hard to get going? I'm only asking - only way to learn and I am glad to hear this interview. I like replacement of motors & strict standards on nuts/bolts & parts. peace

I used to own an Aventura and BUYER BEWARE! I LOVED the design and spoke (and flew) with the original designer, Kerry. So, after years, I ordered my Aventura (SO HAPPY). The house of horrors began. You will never get parts on time or even at all, or like with me, they ALWAYS sent the wrong part! Materials are weak & cheap quality. Very piss-poor company support (if any) and they almost never gave the correct advice for my building of my aircraft. Only the folks that already built their kits could help (most hate this company as well), AeroAdventure NEVER assisted with advice on building/assembling, despite all their claims of the "customer support". The owner, Alex is (in my humble opinion) the biggest dirtbag in the industry and never told me one thing true, so please BUYER BEWARE with these creeps. Buy a Searey and you will never regret it! I did! Searey all the way! In my opinion, this company, Alex and the Aventuras should be avoided. If you are set on an Aventura, buy a Buccaneer. They are older design but the way they were built is FAR BETTER than Aventuras.

Idk if you're selling people on price. I'm seeing the CA500 (100hp) go for around $15k. Paramotor Engines sells a 914UL (115hp) for $15k

I took a serious look at the Rebel and the Elite about 20 years ago and actually flew one but in the end I was turned off by the Avex rivets. I know, everybody uses them now but I just couldn't accept the appearance.

This engine is bulletproof. We have a 2006 civic and it has 400,000 something miles on it with original engine. SUPER RELIABLE

Now, I just saw another video w/ a husband/wife team who are selling the Chinook which has a lot of similar characteristics to this plane? I'm not expert enough to know those or to lay claim in any direction, I'm simply trying to sort out who is who & who owns which patents & so forth? And perhaps that "Couple" sold their holdings to other people? Anyhoo, I guess I'll get to that later, I'm gonna watch the fun for now. peace

When you're new as I am, the CO$T's blow the mind somewhat & the prices don't include assembly so there's a lot of hours of work to get this package buttoned up for flight. This is one of the better kits I've seen, of course I know nothing but I do know I like the metal(tube -n- flat), how it's attached, and all incorporated into a strong unit. Believing in a product is like so important & I do believe in this one. Wish I could afford her.... perhaps one day. peace & great video

I owned an Aero Adventure Aventura and it WAS CRAP! Alex, who owns Aero Adventure is (in my opinion) the worst possible person in aviation industry! My feeling for this sub-standard person aside, getting parts was nearly impossible and if I did get a shipment, it was almost always the wrong part! Just crap company and not a well-built aircraft. The design is great but the quality is like as a Quicksilver ultralight or worse. Wobbly, thin & cheap, poorly adapted for quick build times in sacrifice for quality. Truly Kerry at Progressive makes the finest sea plane on earth and why would you pay for this piece of crap supported by the (in my opinion) the biggest dirtbag in aviation? BUYER BEWARE! I now part own a Searey and I could not be happier. The difference between aircraft is incredible.

And what a job [ that means great video Brian , thanks ,keeps the 'need a plane' juices flowing ,and a bit of plane bit green nv ]. and be nice to always put in basics, stall, VNE , cruise, GPH , take off and landing rolls ,,range ,tank options , how much gear it will carry [ looks like you could sleep in the back of that one ?, a bit of a consideration vs a frame and fabric construction ] ,would save all of us doing it ..we might get in trouble accidentally pressing the buy now button on the web site ....

Question: what did you use to compress the piston rings. That’s one critical step in assembly where rings get broken very easily.

As of Air Adventure 2023 the only option is builder assist which puts the airplane well north of $500K. I would have asked them about their production model. The last I was told that they can do a builder assist or kit.......but not both. Enjoy your Poland vacation!

When I saw the episode title my first impression was "Oh great, ADS-B for visually impaired pilots!" After watching the video I'm still scratching my head... The device is basically an extraction of the AM aircraft portiion of a Bearcat Scanner with front panel programmable buttons assigned to aircart channels. The display characters are way to small for someone to read while scanning the panel or to directly associate push buttons with channels. I aplaude James efforts to assist experimental & general aviation aircraft but I don't see this as any kind of game changer.

I'm so excited to receive my Rans S-21 kit in the next couple weeks. I paid full price when I ordered it and just waiting for Shelly to ping me for shipping costs. People of a certain bent have been trying to fear sell recession for the last 4 years but it just isn't happening and it's tiresome to hear people continuing to claim it as fact. Economy has been growing steadily even with higher interest rates and inflation since the pandemic faded. I'm by no means rich but suddenly finding myself solidly in my 6th decade, still happily employed (in aviation) this dream of building my own airplane is a 'now or never' proposition. Randy is right--if your product is good people will sell it for you. You can either be a pessimist and live in fear or be positive and build your joyous dream. I choose the latter.

One comment to James, no need to wait for GA certification. Just put some Velcro on the back of it, stick it to the panel, and you can use it today (after checking for interference issues). Just make sure the LO doesn't radiate too much.

How reliable are these engines ? Would you fly a single from CA to Maui ?

Made a scanner? Functionally, I don't see what's that different... The form factor is the most interesting feature here, IMO
